How Does A Yonanas Compare To Blender?

The best blenders make the best-frozen treats! But Yonanas is getting popular because of its healthy Yonanas recipe. So, how does Yonanas compare to blender? Is Yonanas better?

Frozen desserts like ice cream are the best! Have you wondered if Yonanas is better than a blender when making healthy soft-serve fruit-based desserts?

As a person, who uses both Yonanas and a blender to make healthy fruit-based desserts, I am curious too.

So I decided to do this side-by-side review and comparison of Yonanas and a blender.

Can a blender give the same result as a Yonanas?

Yonanas makes fruity, frozen desserts that are like ice cream. But foodies made mock ice cream based on 100% fruit cream in blenders and food processors before the Yonanas Maker hit the shelves.

If you want to make frozen treats with the consistency of Yonanas using a blender, you will need a high-powered blender to create one. And depending on how thawed the fruits are, you may need to add fat-free Greek yogurt or non-sweetened dairy milk.

According to Heal With Food, you can’t achieve the same smooth, ice cream-like texture using a blender. Unlike the Yonanas Maker, which squashes the fruit, blenders cut the fruit.

Plus, a blender may not be able to process the fruit unless you add at least a little liquid. Your frozen treat might look more like a smoothie than ice cream.

But, it will always depend on your ideal consistency.  And many say that the consistency of their mock-Yonanas created in the blender is perfect.

So, go ahead and make one if you have a high-power blender that can handle the pieces of frozen fruits. You can check out these Vitamix blenders that can make ice cream!

But, if you don’t have one, you might want to invest in a Yonanas machine or the best ice cream maker

What recipes can you make on both Yonanas and blender?

I usually try to stay healthy. When I heard about the Yonanas Frozen Dessert Maker, I knew I needed to buy one.

I already have a powerful blender at home that makes great soups, smoothies, and even soft-served ice cream.

However, I am curious about the differences between my Yonanas and my blender. They both claim to make healthy soft-served ice cream. So I had to test one out for myself.

My first experiment on Yonanas and the Vitamix blender is the classic creamy banana. Before I started, I prepared lots of bananas and froze them in my fridge. It is essential to ensure that your bananas are fresh and ripe, with plenty of spots before freezing them.

After freezing it overnight, I let the bananas thaw for 7 minutes since that is what the Yonanas instructions advised. I also figured it would be great to use the time for Vitamix.

After that, I dumped the bananas into the blender and then turned them up to the highest setting.

For the Yonanas, you just put the bananas in the machine. Then, use the plunger to push them through the chute. And, you’ll have nice cream that comes out below!

But, we’ll get back to the final results and my comparison later on this blog!

Let me share the second recipe I created. It’s peanut butter and bananas. I did the same procedure, freezing the bananas and letting them thaw for 7 minutes. After that, I placed them inside my Yonanas and my blender.

And for my Florida guys and gals, I also tried making the famous Dole whip using my Yonanas and Vitamix blender. I use only frozen pineapple for this recipe. And I remember waiting in line for my ride through Splash Mountain within the theme parks.

Finally, I tried out the Yonanas maker and my Vitamix blender on non-fruity products. I read some reviews that Yonanas can make soft-serve non-fruity ice cream. So I decided to make my favorite Cookies ‘n Cream flavor with bananas and Oreos.

You can make so many recipes on both Yonanas and blender! And you can compare which makes the best soft-served ice cream.

Which is better in taste: Yonanas or blender?

In terms of taste, I believe that both the Yonanas and the blender produced great soft-served ice cream. There’s no major change in taste. Both are healthy and delicious that you can’t get over!

You will love to pair it with homemade bread or a low-carb cookie. Also, here’s a recipe for simple homemade bread.

Which is better in soft-served texture: Yonanas or blender?

Compared to the Vitamix blender, the best soft-served texture is from my Yonanas dessert maker. I like creamy desserts, and the soft-served ice cream from the Vitamix blender did not fail to give me creamy ice cream!

Which is better in texture when frozen overnight: Yonanas or blender?

yonanas compared to blender

It’s easy to tell which one is the best in texture when it is frozen overnight. The Vitamix blender indeed made the best frozen soft-serve ice cream.

However, the frozen soft-served ice cream from my Yonanas has bigger crystals. And it didn’t stay as smooth and silky as the Vitamix ice cream did.

If you’re planning to store your soft-served ice cream overnight, it’s best to make it using the Vitamix blender. But, if you want to eat it right away, you can make it on Yonanas maker.

I used my Yonanas 988 Deluxe Frozen dessert maker. If you want to know the best Yonanas machine for you, you can check out my review of the Yonanas classic, deluxe, and elite.

Which is better in versatility: Yonanas or blender?

There is no doubt that the Vitamix blender won in terms of versatility! Hot soups, batter, smoothies, and even frozen desserts can all be made. The Yonanas can only do one thing and will still occupy a large space in your kitchen.

Which is better in cost: Yonanas or blender?

It’s impossible to judge the quality of appliances without mentioning the price! A Vitamix blender is $400 at the regular price for reconditioned models and $500 for brand-new models.

For the Yonanas dessert maker, it’s around $40 to $50 at the regular cost. They also offer the Elite version of the Yonanas which costs between $90-$100.

Obviously, when it comes to price Yonanas are the best choice.

Which is better for cleaning: Yonanas or blender?

After you finish making the perfect cream, you’ll have a mess to clean up. Every kitchen preparation will require a clean-up afterward.

For the Vitamix, you can fill it to about halfway with warm water and dish soap. Then, run the blender at the highest speed for 60 seconds before rinsing. It is easy as that!

The Yonanas, I originally thought the Yonanas are difficult to clean. But, the good thing is that you can take out the entire component that gets dirty and clean them. Each of the five parts, excluding the base, is dishwasher safe. Here’s a guide on how to clean Yonanas’ machine in a snap!

I decided to give this one to the Vitamix. It’s so easy to clean and doesn’t require disassembly and reassembly of any kind.

Conclusion

Both Yonanas and blenders are excellent appliances for kitchens. Each has its own advantages and drawbacks. It all depends on your needs.

If you already own a Vitamix you don’t require a Yonanas to make the frozen desserts made of fruit.

However, if you don’t have a powerful blender like the Vitamix, and you love the idea of soft-serve style fruit-based desserts. Yonanas could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Plus, since there are no cutting edges, Yonanas is safer than blenders. If you have children, this is an additional consideration.
