Our Favorite Whisks Review
Here are my recommendations for the best whisks to have in your kitchen. All of the products included are of the highest quality, and each one excels in a different way.
Top Multitasker: Prepworks by Progressive 10” Balloon Whisk, Handheld Steel Wire Whisk
Lightweight and easy to hold
Smooth edges that can’t scratch non-stick coatings
Ideal size and easy to store in the storage
Not proportional to the handle’s weight
The handle is too short
The handle might get slippery as the batter gets heavier
If you’re looking for a whisk that can do multiple tasks, such as beating eggs, whisking flour, or whipping cream, this is the whisk for you.
However, you must take precautions when sitting the whisk in a bowl or pan because it is not well balanced and can create a mess in the kitchen. Overall, it whisks well, and its small size makes it easy to carry and store.
Top for Big Jobs: Kuhn Rikon 10-Inch French Wire Whisk
Can be used for most mixing jobs needed
Thin and flexible whisk wires
Whisk follows the bottom and sides of bowls and saucepans with ease
Size is not ideal
Thinner wires of the whisk and more versatile than those of a traditional French whisk
A little heavier, which means that if you’re whisking for a long time, your wrist will get tired
The name, which includes the word “French whisk,” says it all. This product is just what it says it is: a more upscale variant of a regular whisk.
This product is more maneuverable which will let you work with small bowls. This is made of 100% stainless steel with tines set deeply into the handle to increase its durability. It is, however, a little heavier, so it will make it easier to break up chunky batters.
Top Non-Stick Silicone: OXO Good Grips 11-Inch Silicone Balloon Whisk
Silicone will not scratch any types of cookwares
Well-made tines and prevent food from being trapped inside.
Size is too big for mixing in small bowls.
The handle is too short and it is not heat resistant
It can be difficult to clean
OXO is known for delivering high-quality kitchen items at reasonable prices. And they always never fail to give us quality products!
When whisking foods, this product is tough and durable, but it is gentle. However, since it is made of silicone, you should exercise caution when using it with heat. The product, however, is the best silicone whisk to have in your kitchen that is also budget-friendly.
Top Electric: FoodVille MF05 Rechargeable Milk Frother Handheld Foam Maker with Stainless Whisk
Three-speed settings, allowing you to choose the rotational speed you want
USB charging facility
Comes with two whisks (double-whisk frother and balloon whisk)
Sensitive to touch on/off button
Might cause some spillage of the product
Cycling the levels becomes complicated and time-consuming
This whisk is ideal for those who enjoy making coffee, matcha drinks, or frothing milk, which I also love to do. Not only that, but you can also use this frother to whisk eggs and many more.
For its features, efficiency, and durability, the price you pay for this product is well worth it. The power on/off button is quite sensitive, so be careful with it. Once you’re aware of this issue, it’ll be simple to use and work flawlessly.
Long handle and flat bottom
Compact design and perfect size for a whisk
handy for mixing match drinks or coffees
Not suitable for whisking anything heavier than a drink
If you’re an at-home barista or love mixing drinks, this is the whisk to get. This is the kind of product you don’t realize you need until you have it!
Powders or thick syrup can be easily stirred away from the bottom of a bowl or glass using the flat bottom of the whisks. Although the price is slightly higher, where you can have an electric frother instead, the quality and features of this item make it worthwhile.
Top Dough Whisk: Tovolo Stainless Steel Dough Whisk
great for mixing heavy doughs
Easy to clean
Strong handles that are welded together
Hard handles can cause users’ hands to become frazzled
Water stains can form on the surface if not dried immediately after cleaning
Whisk’s loop is a little bigger
I enjoy making cupcakes and cakes, but mixing the dough with a whisk that can’t handle it, is a challenge. And then I discovered the holy grail for it!
The classic dough hook shape is capable of handling both dry and wet ingredients while ensuring even mixing. This whisk is ideal for those who want to make light and tender baked goods. And thanks to its looped design that cuts through heartier ingredients without sticking.
Top Flat Whisk: Rosle Stainless Steel and Silicone Flat Whisk
Patented coating to avoid slipping
Sturdy and easy to clean
The wires are a bit shorter and doesn’t bend much
The weight of the handle and wire are not balanced
Not heat resistant
Flat whisks are ideal for mixing up sauces because they can scrape bits off the bottom of a pan. If you’ve never tried making a sauce with a flat whisk, you’d be surprised how smooth the final product is- I was the first time I tried it.
This product appeals to me the most because it is corrosion and oxidation resistant. To avoid a mess in the kitchen, keep in mind that the weight of the handle and wires are not proportional. Despite the fact that it is not heat resistant, this product’s quality is unquestionable!
Ball Whisk: WMF Profi Plus Stainless Steel Ball Whisk, 11 Inches
Shortens whisking time with its unique design
Individual wires and balls are easy to clean
Heavy-duty whisk and may cause scratches with your pan or bowls
Metal balls made odd noises
I know, we were all taken aback by its unusual design, which was unlike the normal whisk balloon style, but the whisking time was shortened thanks to the individual wires and balls. Despite the fact that it makes strange noises when whisking and can scratch your bowls or pans, it is still efficient in the kitchen.
Spring Coil Whisk: JSY Mixer Stainless Steel Spring Coil Whisk
Anti-rust and anti-corrosion
Non-slip, anti-scald, comfortable hand feeling
Flexible and durable
Bit bouncier and floppier
Not ideal for heavy mixing
The handle is very magnetic
What I like most about this product is that it is very simple to use and store. This is an ideal whisk to have if you want to blend dressings, seasonings, or eggs because it works well with it. But, because it is floppier, I don’t use it to whisk heavy ingredients. However, it does not affect the product’s efficiency.
Your Buying Guide
If you want to do some shopping on your own, I’ve included some guidelines for you to remember when buying a whisk. Below might be helpful for you to find a quality kitchen whisk.
If you’re searching for a whisk, the first thing you want to consider is the product’s material.
Stainless steel whisks are typically preferred because they last a long time and do not rust. However, there are still stainless whisks that can rust over time, particularly if they are not properly dried after washing, which was also my problem before I discovered that silicone whisks are also a good material to consider in a whisk. Silicone is ideal for non-stick pans since they don’t scratch the coating.
When purchasing a whisk, the consistency of the wires should be taken into account.
Wires that are well-built and able to endure the test of time are something that we all need. You’ll want them to be robust while also allowing for a lot of movement.
Remember that larger wires will quickly break up chunky ingredients such as flour and sugar.
Good handles will give us comfort while whisking ingredients.
Take into consideration the size of the whisk’s handles when making your choice. Keep in mind that a handle that is too short will fall into the bowl, and a handle that is too large can fall out into the bowl.
We don’t want to make a mess in the kitchen, so we have to make sure the whisk doesn’t slip into or out of the bowl.
Whisks come in a variety of shapes and styles. You can choose from a wide range of options on the market.
The products I reviewed are available in a variety of shapes and styles, and each excels in a different way depending on the shape and design.
The shape/design of a product can also influence how easy it is to clean and whether or not food or ingredients can stick to it.
After testing out a variety of the best whisks out there, we’ve laid out the strengths AND weaknesses of these top whisks.
You may have already decided which is the right whisk for you. For general use, I like the Prepworks by Progressive 10” Balloon Whisk. However, these are a few specialty whisks that would be worth your while depending on your habits.
Personally, I want a whisk that can be used for a variety of tasks in the kitchen, but I also need a whisk that can be used for a particular task.
For example, for dough’s you can’t beat the Tovolo whisk. For sauces, the best tool for the job is the Rosle flat whisk. And, for a quick creamy morning matcha, you’ll be hard-pressed to beat the Rattleware whisk.
