Our Favorite Spatula Reviews

The Wusthof Gourmet Offset Slotted Spatula is my favorite pick out of all the items I’ve used. I’ll go into why it’s my favorite of all the products I’ve looked at later in this article.

However, while this product may be the best for me, it may not be the best for you, so I provided options for you to choose from, and each product excels in its own way.

Top Choice: Wusthof Gourmet Offset Slotted Spatula

best spatulas: wusthof

The Highlights:

Pros

Ultra-thin blade

Durable and stamped from a single piece high-carbon stainless steel

Synthetic polypropylene handle

Cons

The handle can be wobbly

Not suitable for left-handed users

Not for use with non-stick cookware, may scratch

This Wusthof slotted spatula is a game changer! Because of the ultra-thin blade, I can quickly flip any dish without damaging it.

It is lightweight, making it easy to maneuver while flipping foods. This product’s handle is elegant, with a synthetic polypropylene cover to keep your hands cool. What’s the best part? Is the extra-long slots that allow the oil and fat to drip away when flipping.

As a note, if you have a porcelain grill, metal spatulas may nick or scratch. Not to worry because we do have other spatulas that won’t! You may also be interested in our top 9 silicone spatulas of 2024 that are perfect for the job.

Best For The Grill: Winco TN719 Spatula

best spatulas: winco

Pros

Durable, edge can be sharp

Best for cast iron pans and griddles

Great value

Cons

Sharp edges may scratch non-stick pans

The size of the blade may be thick for some use

This inexpensive spatula is a must-have in any kitchen, particularly if you enjoy making hamburgers (just like me). This high-quality spatula excels at smashing hamburgers.

Winco products would never let you down with their high quality. This item’s metal turner is rigid, which isn’t a bad thing when it comes to smashing hamburgers. We don’t need lightweight spatulas; instead, we need something that is durable, which this product offers.

Best Soft Touch: Di Oro Large Silicone Spatula

best spatulas: di oro

Pros

The head has one curved and one straight side

Seamless one-piece design

Easy to clean

Cons

The wire inside the handle makes it a little stiff

Discoloration may occur over a long period of time

Are you someone who enjoys baking? Di Oro’s best silicone spatula is ideal for you! This product is good for folding flour into your batter and scraping it into various corners because it is easy to reach in different corners.

However, this product can become discolored over time, but its efficiency as a baking tool is excellent.

Best for Hot Surfaces: OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Turner

best spatulas: oxo good grips

Pros

Safe to lean on hot cookware

Convenient for storage

Sturdily made of stainless steel

Cons

The front edge isn’t beveled causing some food to slip

Weight is a little heavy

Size might not be suitable for small hands

OXO Good Grips has never let us down! Another commodity of excellent quality at a reasonable price.

The sturdiness of this product is what I like most about it, and it does not react to the heat of cookware. This product, like all OXO Good Grips products, is inexpensive and of excellent quality, with a long handle that makes it easy to use in cookware with higher sides.

Top Offset: Ateco Offset Spatula

best spatulas: ateco

Pros

Good multitasker to be used in lots of different recipes

Blade’s length and round tip are perfect for scooping

Narrow blade great for spreading/coating during cooking or baking

Cons

Not dishwasher safe

Edges of handles might bit rough

If you already have a spatula for folding flour into the batter or a silicone spatula for baking and need one for frosting, this is the perfect product for you.  When it comes to frosting cakes or cupcakes, Ateco’s product is my personal preference.

This product is delicately shaped, allowing you to easily spread the frosting. Not only that, but the Ateco Offset Spatula is also useful for creating patterns for cake or cupcake decoration.

The downside of this product is that the handle is made of wood, which is not ideal for dishwashing and is a little rough, but it is simple to clean and won’t take up much of your time. Overall, this item is still of excellent quality!

Top for Baking: Cutco Turn n’ Serve

best spatulas: cutco

Pros

Multipurpose, useful in many different kitchen applications

Big enough to flip big foods, yet precise enough for small jobs

Bacteria-resistant plastic handle

Cons

a significant investment

Not suitable for non-stick pans

Personally, I think this is the best spatula for baking.

This spatula is ideal for removing cookies from a baking tray, flipping pancakes and eggs, and other flipping tasks. What about this product surprised me the most? I used it to transport cakes. Are you still not sure that this product is worth the money?

However, if you use non-stick cookware, this product is not the right one for you. Instead, you’ll use silicone spatulas.

Best in Wood: Eddington Olive Wood Wide Spatula

best spatulas: eddington

Pros

Easy to use and practical

Wider blade

Eye-catching design

Cons

A bit flimsy

Must be dry before use

Not dishwasher safe

This is the product for you if you choose wood spatulas with a unique design. Food preparation, baking, stirring, and mixing can all be done with this spatula. The spatula’s design makes it both efficient and useful at the same time.

This product is made of fine Italian Olivewood; however, due to the nature of the product, it must be thoroughly dried before use, and it is not dishwasher safe. But, in the end, it’s all worth it!

Your Buying Guide

Here are the guidelines we used for our spatula review:

Quality and Durability:

The product’s quality and durability are essential factors to consider. We all know that buying high-quality, long-lasting goods saves money.

Consider how efficient a spatula is to use when purchasing one. For everyday cooking, I prefer stainless steel spatulas. When I bake though, I use a silicone spatula because it is easier for me to combine and flip foods.

Both silicone and stainless steel spatulas are of high quality, and the choice is always yours.

Versatility:

Are you, like me, someone who uses the same spatula on a daily basis?

Since we’re on the same page, you’ll want to think about the versatility of the spatula you’ll buy. We just want kitchen products that can assist us in multitasking.

I’ve already given you some multitasking spatulas, which will help you save money. Isn’t it what we all want?

People Also Ask

What are the best spatulas made of?

Some of the best- and widely used spatulas- are made from silicone, nylon, or some other kind of plastic. This is because most pans today are non-stick and will degrade if you use metal against their surface.

What spatulas do professional chefs use?

Most professional chefs prefer stainless steel fish spatulas. These spatulas are longer and designed to flip or lift delicate fish filets. Due to their size and durability they do well to lift other items as well!

However, for meat or poultry or larger and heavier foods, checks prefer to use tongs.

Why do my spatulas keep melting?

If your spatula is made out of plastic or silicone, it MAY melt if exposed to high heat for too long. Don’t rest your spatulas in your pan while you cook.

Conclusion

Frankly, I never thought much about spatulas before this. I’d use whatever was cheapest until it broke or didn’t work anymore. Now, since I use spatulas all the time whether I’m cooking, baking, or just serving food to my family, I realized investing in a long-lasting, safe, and comfortable spatula makes a world of a difference.

From all the spatulas I reviewed, my top choice is the Wusthof Gourmet Offset Slotted Spatula. It’s strong and wide enough to flip, carry, or scoop anything- and doesn’t scratch my pan.

I do also like the silicon spatulas, my top pick being the Di Oro Large Silicone Spatula. These are great when you need a gentler touch. Such as scrambling eggs, scooping a cake out of a mold, or sliding dinner into a serving dish.

Also note, the Di Oro spatula IS silicone, however it has a softer tip. Featuring in our 2024 guide to the top 9 silicone spatulas are silicone-coated spatulas (not featured in this post). So if you’re looking for a sturdy spatula that won’t nick your grill or enameled cookware, you may find that guide valuable as well.
