When the LED indicator goes red from green, you can easily tell if you need to replace your water filter. However, this isn’t totally accurate.  The LED indicator serves as a reminder that there are enough contaminants in your filter.

If the filter’s flow rate slows down, then you know it’s time to change it. It doesn’t mean there’s a defect in your filter, but there are contaminants in your filter. Even if the LED indicator is still green, you should replace it.

7 Easy Steps To Replace Pur Water Filter 

Step 1: Remove the water filter from your faucet by pressing the two buttons on each side.

Step 2: To loosen and remove the cap, turn it counterclockwise, and you can see the blue filter inside. 

Step 3: Pull the blue filter straight up. It can be a little hard because of the rubber seal.

Step 4: Rinse the inside of the filter to get rid of some of the grit.

Step 5: Install the new filter in the right direction and give it a push. Once you hear it click, you know it’s installed. Make sure that holes inside and outside the filter are in line.

Step 6:  Put back the filter’s cap. Mount it back to the faucet. You’ll hear a click, which means it’s already mounted.

Step 7: Finally, let it run for 5 minutes to ensure that the new filter is fully saturated.
